Hi, I’m Jack.
I was a testing audio engineer at Harrison Systems from 1985 until Dave Harrison sold the company to GLW. I have soldered patch bays, maintained, aligned, and adjusted the bias on an old Ampex 16-track 2” reel-to-reel monster. I have worked on most all the large-format recording consoles: Harrison, Neve, SSL, Trident, and many others.
I have been a studio rat since 1985 in Nashville where I grew up. From 1998 until 2007, I built and ran a studio in Alpharetta, GA with a recording room and control room. Until 2007, it was based around three ADAT XT multitrack recorders and SMPTE synced to my PC with Cakewalk Sonar and my sequencers. In 2007-2008 I upgraded to the Alesis HD24 Hard Disk 24-track recorder and began mixing on the virtual Neve 88R in my UAD processor.
I sold the studio in 2011 and began selling the rack equipment and mic collection, but I have hung on to the most critical pieces and am selling them now due to my relocation. All this equipment was bought new, gently used, and carefully maintained.
