Shipping Policy

I will ship with tracking to the listed regions. To negotiate shipping rates to other locations, please send me a message.

Before sending me a message that my shipping rates are outrageous please let me state my reasons for said rates:

1) Canada Post will only insure up to $1000 Can for loss for anything shipped outside of Canada, $5000 within. They do not cover damages. If a guitar is damaged in transit who is going to pay for it?

2) Unless specifically negotiated, I ship via UPS because the UPS shop I work with does a really good job packing and they cover more than Canada Post insurance wise and if they pack it they also cover damage.

3) Given I usually ship via UPS for the reasons above it costs more. The last two guitars I shipped to Ontario and Quebec cost $220 and $185 Canadian respectively, packed and shipped with insurance, and those were not expensive guitars. Shipping to the US can often cost a lot more, depending on the distance. The cost of shipping does not include my travel time, gas, etc.

4) When I charge for shipping Reverb does not take a cut of that amount. If I charged little for shipping and put most of the cost into the guitar then Reverb fees would cut into any shipping costs I put into the price of the guitar so I would get double whammied. Advertise shipping for $70 and yet pay $100? Reverb gets some of that $30 you just had to pull out of the price of the guitar. Makes no sense, literally.

5) I don't get nasty messages back saying my packing is ugly and sucks, even when a rocket propelled grenade couldn't touch your guitar the way I pack. Besides, guitar boxes are a real pain to find and I find myself having to pay for them, which again cuts into the losses I am already taking on almost every guitar I sell.

6) I am not a business, and therefore cannot get business shipping rates. If I were a business I would have to charge taxes, etc.

I am not in this to make a profit, cause that ship sailed a long time ago, but I am also not in it to lose my shirt and pants as well. If you don't like my shipping charges, unless you live close by, I suggest buying from someone who works more in line with your estimation of shipping rates.
