Not much to describe. Would like to sell more on Reverb if they can ever come up with a solution to the consistent price inflation that scares so many potential buyers away from the site. Currently everyone seems to be basing their asking prices on what other people are asking, which tend to be far higher than the actual values for guitars purchased online. It's really killing what could be a great site. Based on my extensive experience of purchasing musical equipment online I have a good feel for how the market works. For example, there are twice as many guitars listed on Reverb than on the top competition's site. However, for every 1 guitar I purchase on Reverb, I can purchase 2 or 3 from the competition. I tried selling the same guitars on both Reverb and the other site this past year and they all received more traffic and were all purchased from the competition's site at the same asking prices as listed on Reverb. Clearly there is a problem with the high asking prices and expectations of sellers on this website. Having a search tool that lets sellers know the actual sale prices of recent previously sold items on the site would go a long way. Also having a blue book price guide search tool would help. The asking prices for average condition items tend to be higher than high condition blue book values. If Reverb can remedy this issue with asking price inflation I will certainty bring my sales over from the competition's site to Reverb.
