To all my friends and customers. A lfew folks have asked me if I am out of business lately. The answer is no, not at all. I have been selling quite a few nice vintage guitars lately. A lot of my inventory does not get to the site as i have buyers that I have been working with for years. But I did just move my family to a nice little beach town in N San Diego county called Cardiff by the Sea. The move was a lot of work after living in the same home for 32 years and took up 2-3 month of my time. We are slowly getting settled in the new home and I plan to establish myself here and get back to buying and selling nice guitars, a business that i love and enjoy. I have been actively involved with buying and selling vintage guitars in the Southern California area since 1968. I met the legendary Norman Harris in 1972 and asked him to join my band at the time. We eventually hooked up and worked together in The Angel City Rhythm Band for 5 years. We did a lot of recording and backed up all the LA area blues legends including Albert Collins, Big Mama Thorton, T-Bone Walker, Lowell Fulson and many more.
Norm started Normans Rare Guitars in 1976 and I came aboard in 1978 after retiring from the road. We were great friends and partners in the store until 1999 when I took some time off. I started California Vintage Guitar in 2001 and ran it until 2013 when i sold it to my old partner. I currently accept most major credit cards, bank wires, Paypal and personal checks. I always ship within 1 or 2 days of payment unless special circumstances arise.
