Welcome to our shop. We specialize in small to medium sized amps made by Fender, but really we carry many brands and sizes, specializing in “pawnshop prize” amps. We try to keep on hand a wide selection of high-quality tube and solid state amps here, and a few other music-related items, there's an amp for everyone!
We carry affordable amps that all get great tone. From the 60s to the present, Chrysalis Gear has you covered if you need a good amp.
We have been buying, selling, and collecting gear since the 70s, and are happy to answer any questions.
We love guitar amps, especially tube amps. If you sample our listings you'll see that we're not tube snobs. Solid state amps can also be well made and they have their place.

A word about our methods: We treat every amp to a restoration process. We take each amp apart and thoroughly clean everything inside & out. If scratchy, pots and connectors are sprayed with contact cleaner. Tube amps have their tube sockets and pins sprayed, and per our friend Skip Simmons, the pins are then given a very light coat of lubricant.
Of course, all tolex receives a good scrubbing. If you’d like the tolex to shine, that treatment is also available.
Hardware is evaluated on an individual basis. Our team meets and talks about every amp and every member’s ideas about how to best restore are discussed. We welcome input from prospective buyers too, and for a small fee are always willing to do additional simple mods such as installing new chrome corner protectors, chassis straps, handles, knobs, and feet.

If you’d prefer a different speaker than is offered, we do have a small selection of options for an additional fee. Just message us for a list of choices and pricing.

The Quest for Tone can be frustrating and never-ending. We don't have all the answers, but we do know some methods for creating good tone. If you find yourself frustrated, send us a message.
