Overview

Building upon the original 12-string in Taylor's 300 series, the Taylor 355ce 12-string acoustic-electric guitar tacks on a few extra accoutrements for some added flexibility in both playing and aesthetics. Of course, the 355ce sports a smooth Venetian cutaway, as notated by the c in the instrument's name, and onboard electronics, indicated by the e. The 355ce's jumbo body, resonant sound, and design similar to that of the Leo Kottke signature model make it an excellent guitar for fingerpicking.

Bought a Martin gpc12pa4rosewood instead. Taylor nice Martin one you can barely get ahold of lest you borrow it.

  • The 355CE is my second Taylor 12, and I love this one more than the first. The Taylor Expression system is awesome, and it allows my guitar to interact with my Ultra Sound amp perfectly. The action is amazing, and the setup allows me to finger pick in open C and D to my hearts content.

Great guitar. Large body with lots of sound. It has a bright but well balanced tone. I've played it before with just 8 strings and it gave me a nice, full acoustic sound (which is what I wanted at the time for playing some rhythm acoustic). The neck is nice also, it's not too big with great action for a 12 string acoustic.

Very disappointed. Would not stay in tune. Poor sound. Returned it to seller.
