The C1 provides the studio-quality sound you’d expect from a much more-expensive European mic—with usable, intelligent features—all at an affordable price.The MK 1 capsule uses dual 1” gold-coated diaphragms, similar to those used in Miktek’s more costly mics. Combined with the built-in high-pass filter, –10dB pad and AMI T7 transformer, the C1 provides a smooth, transparent sound that’s warm and natural. It’s great for vocals but also excellent for recording acoustic instruments, guitar amps or drum overheads.The head amp design features a variable bias voltage circuit that lets you switch the capsule bias voltage from +48 to +60 volts. Their large-diaphragm mics compare to any of the tried-and-true standards from Europe. As for the C1: For the dollar, there’s not a better, more “record-ready” mic.
