The Paul was released in the late 70s as a more budget friendly alternative to the Les Paul model but has become more and more sought after because of its quality. The Walnut body and neck produces a sound that is described as warmer than mahogany but with more brilliance and a faster tonal attack.That paired with an ebony fretboard makes for a perfect combination. The Paul also has a belly cut and a contoured front which makes it more ergonomic to play. This guitar has the aesthetics of the original matte/thin-skin lacquered design but has a Seymour Duncan zebra humbucker in the bridge replacing the original Gibson 'velvet brick' zebra and a Gibson 490R in the neck position. Has 2 original pots and 2 newer ones. Frets look really good for a guitar of this age. IIt has been played and it shows, there is some cosmetic wear but I like that on these types of guitars.
