I am not the original owner. I received this with a neck that was refinished, but later developed some cosmetic issues with the finish coming off in areas. I was originally told that the refinish was from Gibson Restoration (hence the Demo stamp), but I later contacted Gibson and they verified that such a mod as described was not from them so likely a previous owner. As a result, I removed the existing finish on (back of the neck/headstock only) and refinished with StewMac dye and Tru Oil. (This is the lighter matching cherry color you see). The result in my opinion is an excellent feeling neck that is not too satin and not too sticky. No physical neck defects or dings. Only the cosmetic finish. Guitar plays excellentl! I also replaced the original nickel Nashville bridge and stop bar with brand new Gibson replacements, but chrome instead of nickel, which actually looks sharper in my opinion. Original bridge volume pot had a issue and was recently replaced with a new CTS 500K pot matching the original specs (same as the 500K Gibson pot, also made by CTS).**As for cosmetic defects, note the dark small blemishes on the inside of the upper horn and some of the binding and nibs wore away at the very upper frets. Frets are smooth in that area, just cosmetic.Slight scratches/haze on the pickguard.All issues noted are cosmetic and the guitar plays and sounds great!
