Overview
- 2012 saw the first major update to the Les Paul Studio line since 1998 when Gibson moved away from all-Ebony Fretboards
- The 2012 update includes Grenadillo Fretboards, 490R/498T Humbuckers, and Vintage Tuners. In 2013, the Studio was available in these specs but with Min-ETune Robot Tuners
- Available in Ebony, Wine Red, Alpine White, Vintage Sunburst, Goldtop, Fireburst, Pelham Blue, Inverness Green, Radiant Red, and Silver Pearl. Fireburst, Pelham Blue, Inverness Green, Radiant Red, and Silver Pearl were only available in 2012, while the other finishes were available in 2012 and 2013, and could be purchased with Chrome or Gold hardware
- Returned to a rosewood fretboard on the 2014 models
