About this listing
Please see our shop’s description for contact information, and thank you for stopping by Northside Buy & Sell!Up for sale is a beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Left-Handed in its original Wine Red finish. Left-handed vintage Les Pauls from the 1970s rarely surface, especially examples this original and well-preserved. This one checks all the right boxes, retaining its original finish, hardware, plastics, electronics, original hardshell case, and even the original Gibson warranty card. One tasteful exception deserves mention. The original mini-humbuckers were professionally rewound by the highly respected Tom Brantley, one of today’s best-known pickup winders. The work required disturbing the original solder joints, but the pickups remain the original Gibson units and now deliver a noticeably stronger, clearer, and more articulate voice while preserving the classic Les Paul Deluxe character. It’s an upgrade that most players will genuinely appreciate without sacrificing the guitar’s originality.Condition is an easy Excellent for a nearly 50-year-old instrument. It has obviously spent much of its life safely stored in its case and has been exceptionally well cared for. There are only a handful of minor cosmetic imperfections scattered throughout, all of which are shown in the photos. The Wine Red finish still has outstanding depth and gloss, while the cream plastics have developed a beautiful natural patina that pairs perfectly with the lightly aged nickel hardware. The original low, wide Gibson fret wire remains in excellent condition with plenty of life left, and while players familiar with this era know these frets have a distinctly vintage feel, they show very little wear.At 10 lbs. 1.4 oz., this is a solid, substantial Norlin-era Les Paul with the sustain and authority these guitars are known for. The neck has a comfortable medium profile that measures .805” at the 1st fret and .970” at the 12th, offering a familiar late-’70s Gibson feel without being overly bulky. This Les Paul was recently given a professional setup with a fresh set of 9-42 gauge strings, so it plays beautifully with a straight neck, low action, and accurate intonation.Specifications:-Model: 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe (Left-Handed)-Finish: Wine Red-Weight: 10 lbs. 1.4 oz.-Nut Width: 1.70”-Neck Thickness (1st Fret): .805”-Neck Thickness (12th Fret): .970”-Pickups: Original Gibson Mini-Humbuckers professionally rewound by Tom Brantley-Pots: Original CTS dated 46th week of 1976-Case: Original Gibson hardshell case-Included: Original Gibson warranty card and case keyWhether you’re a collector searching for a clean vintage left-handed Gibson or a player looking for an outstanding Les Paul Deluxe with exceptional tone, this is a fantastic example.
