About this listing
Up for sale is a fantastic ca. 1974–1975 Gibson L6 Custom. When this guitar first came into the shop, it was equipped with 1980s Japanese humbuckers, and the original proprietary multi-way electronics had been modified beyond the point of restoration. To bring this vintage beauty back to life, we decided to convert it into a classic, streamlined Gibson player’s guitar with a traditional "SG-style" layout and control configuration. It has been upgraded with high-end, brand-new components and is ready for the stage or studio.Upgrades & New Parts:Pickups: Brand new DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary humbuckers in both the neck and bridge positions.Electronics: Brand new premium Switchcraft 3-way toggle switch and Switchcraft output jack.Aesthetics: Brand new custom-fit pickguard and matching backplate.Condition & Originality:Hardware & Finish: Aside from the upgrades listed above, this guitar is completely original, including the original potentiometers.Frets & Playability: There is zero fret wear. It plays beautifully with low action and notes ring out clean and clear across the entire fretboard.Weight: Super comfortable and lightweight at 3.5 kg (approx. 7.7 lbs).Tone Profile:Neck Position: Warm, deep, and beautifully full-bodied.Bridge Position: Clear, cutting, with a great vintage "twang" and bite.Instrument ConditionAll of our instruments are carefully inspected and adjusted to ensure good playability before being listed for sale.
