About this listing
This is a Fender Japan Jaguar “HJG-66KC VI,” a rare limited model jointly produced by Ikebe Gakki and Fender Japan as a Kurt Cobain-inspired release. The serial number is Crafted in Japan Q0 + 5 digits, which dates this guitar to approximately 2002–2004.At the time, three versions were released — IV, V, and VI — and this VI version is regarded as the final one, said to be the closest to Kurt Cobain’s own specifications. From what I have researched, the first “IV” appeared around 1997, and the series seems to have continued until around 2012. However, it does not appear that all three versions were always offered at the same time, so the lineup may have varied depending on the period. When the neck is removed, there is an ORDER stamp “DK-203” on both the neck heel and the neck pocket, and the body is marked “JG66-98D.” According to the information I was able to confirm, the HJG-66KC from this period was originally based on a JG66-98D, which Ikebe Gakki had specially ordered from Kanda Shokai as a cell-bound Jaguar. Ikebe then modified those guitars and sold them under the model name HJG-66KC. So this guitar is considered to be a correct and authentic HJG-66KC.From my research, examples made around 2007–2012 appear to have “HJG-66” markings, so it seems the internal stamping changed at some point. The specifications are exactly what you would want from this model: alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and DiMarzio PAF & Super Distortion pickups. In any case, this is a rare and hard-to-find limited model, and it remains in reasonably good condition, making it a great opportunity for anyone who has been looking for one.The weight is approximately 3.9 kg.For a guitar that is nearly 20 years old, it remains in reasonably good condition. The frets also have plenty of life left. However, there are a few dings and some minor scratches. The included accessories are a Fender hard case and tremolo arm. Please note that this is a used item. There are no issues with its current functionality, but please understand that you may need to make further adjustments after purchase to suit your preferences.Be sure to review the photos and description carefully before placing a bid.If there’s anything you’d like to confirm, please don’t hesitate to contact us.Important NoticePayments are accepted via PayPal only. Please ensure the shipping address in your PayPal account exactly matches the one registered on Reverb. We will ship to the Reverb-registered address even if you use Guest Checkout or if the PayPal address does not match.
