Includes the original hardshell case. This model pays homage to John Lennon's 1965 Epiphone Casino that he stripped to natural finish (from Sunburst) in 1968. He played that Casino on the single "Revolution", and during the famous London rooftop performance in 1969. Of course this will appeal to Beatles fans out there, but it's simply a killer guitar with very impressive specs in addition to the Lennon connection! Not to mention, it looks gorgeous. Check out that maple grain on the back! These come stock with high quality hardware and electronics that you'd expect to see in a USA Gibson, including: Gibson P90s, full sized CTS pots, Orange Drop caps, Switchcraft output jack and switch, Grover tuners, nickel ABR-1 bridge and trapeze tailpiece. Honestly, it's as inspiring to play as any modern Gibson ES-330 I've played and/or owned. It sounds fantastic, and gives you that jangly, articulate sound that you'd expect from a guitar like this. Great definition and note separation even when playing complex chords. Various sources online list the neck profile as a SlimTaper "D" shape, although this one is slightly chunkier than others I've seen that have measurements available. It has a comfy, full feel and is easy to get around on, especially with the satin finish. I recently threw on a new set of '10s and oiled the fretboard, and it's playing great with low-medium action. There's plenty of room to adjust the setup to your preference if needed, too.Here are the highlights:All original, no modifications (other than strap locks). Great condition. 6.6 lb. Fully-hollow construction. Satin finish.Mahogany neck w/ rosewood fretboard and parallelogram inlays. 12" fretboard radius w/ Medium-Jumbo frets. 1 11/16" nut width. The neck depth measurements read .86" and .99" @ the 1st and 12th frets. This is akin to a classic '59 Gibson neck profile. To me, it doesn't quite feel like a "D", but more like a C with slightly less shoulder, and a bit less rounded than a '59 profile. It feels full; not slim, not clubby, and very comfortable!Stock Gibson USA "Dogear" P90s w/ nickel covers, 250k CTS pots, Orange Drop capacitors, Switchcraft jack and pickup selector switch. 2x Vol, 2x Tone. Nickel ABR-1 bridge and Trapeze tailpiece, w/ gold Grover tuners (like on John's!).Condition: This guitar is in great condition, showing some light play wear and general use, but nothing that stands out much. Actually, it's VERY clean for a guitar with thin, satin finish, which tends to show nicks, scratches and scuffs quite easily. Everything functions as it should with no issues. The frets show some light wear, but no divots, or anything that affects the playability. Moving on to the rest of the guitar, it shows some faint surface scuffs here and there, like any used guitar does, as well as some typical patina/aging on the hardware. Satin finish always turns a bit glossy in the areas where you frequently make contact, like the back of the neck, which is the case on this guitar (and will be on any satin-finished guitar that's been played more than a handful of times). The neck still feels quite smooth, though. There is also a bit of glossiness around the tip of the treble-side F-hole and in-between the ends of the pickups (where your picking hand fingers anchor), but it's hard to see until you catch it in direct light just right. The case shows some light scuffs, with a more notable scratch on the bottom. I've marked this guitar as "Very Good" instead of "Excellent" because of the following two notes: there is a very small ding in the binding edge around the 9th-10th fret on the bass side, and a more moderate nick/scuff on the back edge of the headstock. The mark in the binding could easily be drop-filled if you wanted to address it, but I don't feel it at all when I'm playing. If you play with your thumb wrapped over the edge of the board in that area, you might notice it a little bit, but even then, it's not sharp and probably won't be an issue for you. Make sure to check out all the photos, which highlight everything above. Overall, a very clean guitar that's doing quite well for itself at 16 years old. It plays and sounds as good as it looks, and performs exceedingly well compared to other guitars around this price point and higher! *Note - Upon receiving the guitar, please let it acclimate to room temperature before opening the case and removing it. This prevents "shock" (subjecting it to a rapid change in temperature and humidity) and is especially important to prevent lacquer checking/cracking.
