Overview

The 3612 was the 6-string version of the regular 3412 Shorthorn bass. This bass is similar to the Fender Bass VI in that its tuned like a guitar but a full octave lower. The earliest examples had a shorter "kidney bean" style pickguard, while those from 1961 onward had a longer "seal" style guard.

Years of Production:
1959 - 1966

Design Elements: Seal-style pickguard, single pickup, dot inlays, two control knobs.
