For sale is a beautiful 1999 Collings D1A Sunburst, built at the Collings workshop in Austin, Texas, during the Bill Collings era.This high-end dreadnought features a solid Adirondack spruce top paired with solid Honduran mahogany back and sides. After 27 years of natural ageing and playing, it delivers the powerful, open and highly dynamic tone for which the D1A is renowned: strong projection, tight bass response and excellent note definition.The guitar is equipped with an LR Baggs magnetic pickup system, making it immediately suitable for stage or studio use.It remains in very good overall condition for its age and is fully functional. For complete transparency, it displays a few minor cosmetic signs of use:Two tiny finish playwear marks on the top, only noticeable on very close inspection.Two small, localised areas of light finish bubbling, located on one side.The lining of the original case has naturally changed colour with age.These cosmetic marks are discreet, and fully consistent with the age of the instrument and have no effect on its playability or tonal qualities.
