Vince Gill Tests His Vintage Guitar Knowledge

At 60 years old today, Vince Gill can look back on an impressive career that has landed him more awards and invitations to collaborate than almost any other musician, country or otherwise. Aside from being an incredible vocalist with jaw-dropping chops on the Fender Telecaster, he also has a deep appreciation for the builders and players behind the history of the guitar.

It's no wonder, then, that he was tapped to be the ambassador for the Songbirds Guitar Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee at their grand opening last month.

While we were there, we decided to see just how deep his knowledge goes as the spokesperson for the world's largest vintage guitar collection. Check out the video above to see how Vince did.

We can't think of a better person to champion the story of the guitar as a tool and work of art, someone who has more gratitude for opportunities that the instrument has afforded him.
