"A snare drum is something custom and unique to your sound," Anderson .Paak admits. "Sometimes you don't need all the chops, you just need the sound."
Now that the hip-hop polymath has teamed up with Ludwig to design a signature drum, every drummer and their grandmother is bound to agree: the sound of the Anderson .Paak Pee .Wee Signature Snare will hit you like a smack in the face.
The snare is available in a limited edition of 250 in two sizes—5"x14" or 6.5"x14"—and both boast gold hardware and all-maple shells decked out in a flamboyant pearl-and-paisley design that made its debut with the artist's signature Vans shoe and apparel collection. The snare also features an autographed sticker inside the shell, a signature badge, and of course an "incredible, impeccable sound".
Alongside the two snares, Ludwig has also introduced the "Vandreson" Paisley Drum Rug, a 78" x 63" plush rug with non-slip rubber backing and Velcro loop-and-lock straps. Not only will it keep your drums safely in place but it'll throw some "sick vibes" under your kit. "Even if you can't play," as Pee Wee puts it, "You're gonna look good."
