Based on the success of the S-200 Reissue from last year’s Summer NAMM, Guild is moving forward with the T-Bird ST – a new version featuring a stoptail bridge (great for alternate and down tuning) and streamlined controls.
These T-Birds are outfitted with Guild's Franz P-90 reissue pickups, marking the first time these pickups have been used in a Guild solidbody guitar. Since most of Guild's offerings are traditionally hollow or semi-hollow, they're making a commitment to put out more solidbodies based around the T-Bird body shape.
Guild is also rolling out their new, high-end D-40 Traditional and D-55 acoustics, made in their brand new Oxnard factory. These guitars feature a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, dovetail neck joints, and adirondack spruce bracing. The internals have been re-braced and the guitars are a bit lighter and more powerful than the classic models while still retaining familiar.
