Coming in hot with more pedal news from NAMM 2021, we're excited to show off a new pedal today from our pals at EarthQuaker Devices: the Astral Destiny. This ethereal vibe master is a multi-mode octave reverb pedal, featuring a huge reverb circuit at its core, a built-in chorus, and octave controls for even more sonic versatility.
Control-wise, the Astral Destiny has plenty for tone-tinkerers to dial-in. Use the mode knob to select which of the eight unique reverb tone options you'd like to engage, and then use the length, mix, and tone pots to shape your sound just how you'd like. The built-in chorus can add all manner of textures, from extra shimmer to pitch-bending vibrato, which can be shaped with the rate and depth controls. Players can also choose to engage octave up or octave down individually, or engage both together for more depth.
Each mode does something unique—astral, for example, regenerates octave tails for a slowly cascading sea of sound, the ascend/descend mode leads to spiraling pitch changes, and the cosmos mode adds a fifth to reverb tails for harmonic decay. There's an added footswitch labeled "stretch," which doubles the reverb's decay time and warps its pitch.
