Video: JHS Releases Brand-New Clover Preamp and Whitey Tighty Compressor

With NAMM 2019 kicking off this weekend, pedal companies all across the instrument market have been unveiling brand-new products for this year and today, Andy is checking out two new offerings, a preamp and compressor, from pedal brand JHS.

First up is the Clover Preamp, which is a reimagining of the short-lived FA-1 FET Boost/Preamp/EQ that Boss released as part of its pocket series in the '80s. The Clover promises to deliver the rich tone the original is known for, featuring controls for cutting or boosting bass and treble, as well as a mid-range control for matching the pedal more easily with your guitar. It also features a global low-cut switch and a balanced XLR output for bassists and acoustic guitarists.

Andy is pairing the Clover Preamp with the Whitey Tighty Compressor—a new mini compressor from JHS. The Whitey Tighty is a great go-to for cutting out transients, with a clean blend control that retains the organic feeling of your guitar tone and compression that adds sustain and balance to your string volume.

Be sure to give the pedals a listen in the video above, and if you like what you see you can order your own Clover Preamp or Whitey Tighty Compressor on Reverb now. To see more news from the NAMM show in Anaheim, follow our ongoing coverage.
