The NAMM musical instruments industry trade show returns to Anaheim next week—officially kicking off on Tuesday, January 21 and running through Sunday, January 26. But the new gear news and announcements, as usual, are already starting to trickle in. And, as usual, we're here to cover them!
We'll have folks on the floor at the show, so stay tuned on this page now through the end of the convention, as we'll continually add the most exciting announcements, demos, and booth videos here as they happen.
Dumble Amps is plotting a comeback
Dumble amplifiers are as legendary as they are exceedingly rare these days, so when we heard that the storied brand was plotting a comeback at NAMM, we were naturally excited. We stopped by the Dumble booth and got to check out a bunch of historic Dumbles they had on hand, plus two new builds—including one brand new prototype that could be put into production in the near future.
We made a NAMMTHEM with Cory Wong, Victor Wooten, Yvette Young, Doug Wimbish, Ariel Posen, Alex Skolnick & more
We convinced a ton of talented musicians to contribute to a group song on-the-spot at the NAMM 2025 convention, and were blown away by their talent in making our idea a reality. As anyone who's ever been to NAMM will know, trying to make a record there is a bit a close-to-impossible mission, but we did it, all thanks to the incredible contributions of the musicians we found at the show.
Cory Wong on his blink-182-meets-George-Benson StingRay II Signature
When Cory Wong set out to create a 6-string StingRay with Ernie Ball Music Man, he had quite the request: a bridge pickup that could sound like blink-182 or Weezer, a neck pickup that could do George Benson or Al McKay, and the balance that somehow lets these very different tones co-exist. Hear as he demonstrates this tonal range on his StingRay II Signature, which is available for sale now (along with a Deluxe model).

Gibson returns to NAMM with new LPs, acoustics & amps
Gibson was another brand that returned to the NAMM show in Anaheim this year, and they brought a bunch of new products to show off with them. We had a chance to stop by the booth and got to spend some time with the newly recreated line of Les Pauls that they originally unveiled at NAMM back in 1955. We also got to check out the new J-45, Hummingbird, and a recreation of the legendary Mesa/Boogie IIC+.

Checking out Fluff's new Music Man Sterling Signature model
Fluff has brought his signature Music Man guitar into the Sterling series with a more affordable, streamlined model. We got a chance to talk to him all about the new features and differences from the original on the NAMM floor.
Slingerland Drums is back for the first time in decades
For the first time in decades, Slingerland Drums is back at the NAMM show essentially relaunching themselves as a revived legacy brand with new products after ownership changed hands five years ago. "We have a beautiful concept of one foot in the heritage and the other foot in the future," Jose from Slingerland told us at the brand's booth. And their debut product—a 1930s Radio King snare replica—does beautifully exemplify that ethos.
Checking out the Boss VG-800 Guitar Modeler & Roland V-Stage
Roland and Boss showed up to the NAMM 2025 show with some exciting new gear to show off at their booth. One of the most innovative pieces of new gear is the Boss VG-800 guitar modeler, which allows players to completely virtually construct their own ideal guitar configurations, with pickups and all, in any tuning and octave. It also features amp models and effects, a stereo effects loop, and even more.
On the Roland side, Joel got a look at the new V-Stage—an intuitive keyboard built for active performers who primarily need keyboard sounds. While there is a synth section, the V-Stage's main focus is on its vast organ, electric piano, and acoustic piano sounds. The V-Stage will be available in two configurations: a 76-note version and a piano-weighted 88-key version.

Fender returns to the NAMM show with updates & new releases
Fender returned to the winter NAMM show in Anaheim this year for the first time since the pandemic halted everything a few years back, so we had to make sure to get over to their booth. Joel stopped by to take a tour through the updates, upgrades, and some new releases that will be on offer in 2025. Watch above to see what's changing about the American Vintage II series, the affordable Standard series updates, and some new affordable Acoustasonic models with fully painted finishes.
The actually mini MiniKORG reissue from Korg & full Handytraxx turntable line
Korg's very first analog synth is back in a big—but small—way. Like the MiniMoog, the MiniKORGs of the 1970s are not so mini by today's standards. So Korg's new MiniKORG 700 Sm reissue shrinks the rich analog architecture into a more compact format. While at the Korg booth, we also got a rundown on the latest Handytraxx turntables lineup, which now includes the Handytraxx Play (for performances and scratching), Handytraxx Tube (for premium listening quality), and Handytraxx 1Bit (for crystal clear, high-definition sampling).
MXR's Rockman X100—a legendary '80s headphone amp, recreated
Today, MXR has unveiled the new Rockman X100 pedal—a faithful, all-analog recreation of the legendary Rockman X100 headphone amp created in the early '80s by Tom Scholz of the band Boston. The new pedalboard-friendly unit stays true to the original, offering the same four modes that promise players all of the coveted cleans and crunchy chorus tones of the original.

Claudio Sanchez to release signature Jackhammer guitar

Coheed and Cambria progressive rocker Claudio Sanchez has unveiled a new guitar at NAMM called the Jackhammer. This signature production model will be released under the Evil Instruments brand name, while production is being handled by Dunable. The guitar will be available in two tiers—an imported version made in South Korea and a USA-made version built in Los Angeles.

Third Man Hardware unveils 10-Year Anniversary Bumble Buzz

Third Man Hardware is celebrating a full decade of the Bumble Buzz with a new, all-white 10-year anniversary edition. The new all-white unit comes in a cool custom wooden box that includes some extras, like guitar picks and a custom bandana. The new pedal is available now on Reverb from the Third Man Hardware shop.
The Verso Sine: A playful, expressive & experimental guitar
One of most inventive new guitar models that will debut at the NAMM show was unveiled early by Verso Instruments, called the Sine. Handcrafted in Germany by luthier Robin Strummvoll, the Sine comes in a variety of truly delightful two-tone colors that show off one of its most visually and technically interesting features: the working Sine pad. Players can press the Sine pad portion of the body to change the string-to-pickup height and mechanically adjust volume for a uniquely tactile onboard tremolo. And did we mention its dual pickups are completely moveable? Players can shift both pickups around any way they like for more treble or bass response—or even split them across separate strings for a full stereo output.
The Verso Sine can also be ordered with the added Lehle Expression functionality, which was designed in collaboration with that brand and is a compact module that adds four more bits of impressive tech to the guitar: CV control, two expression outputs for synths or pedals, USB MIDI for connecting to your DAW, and a switch for switching your amp or pedal using an internal relay.
Mesa/Boogie unveils the previously teased '90s Dual Rectifier
For those who missed it the first time around or those who are missing it today, the iconic Mesa/Boogie '90s spec Dual Rectifier is back. This twin channel amp was originally released in 1991 and completely revolutionized the Mesa/Boogie brand—and essentially doubled the company's previous demand, as it became a defining piece of gear in the growing grunge and hard rock scenes.

Ditch the power cord with Mackie's new portable mixer
Mackie has announced a spin-off to its popular ProFX10 mixer line starting with this new ProFX10 GO. The GO is a powerful 10-channel audio mixer and 4-bit/192 kHz, 2x4 USB-C audio interface featuring Mackie's expansive GigFX+ effects engine built in, Bluetooth, and a full-color LCD display for editing and saving presets. What's perhaps most impressive is its built-in battery, which promises up to eight hours of playtime and is also swappable for an immediate recharge, with extra batteries sold separately.
