Martin Announces New Jason Isbell and Ed Sheeran Signature Models

Jason Isbell got his start in his early 20s touring with beloved Southern alternative country band the Drive–By Truckers from 2001 to 2007. After leaving the Truckers, Isbell put together his own band — Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit — and began an acclaimed solo career that has seen him take home six Americana Music Honors and Awards and two Grammys.

This year, Martin has partnered with the award–winning musician to design his own D–18 Signature Model, which will be unveiled at Summer NAMM. The Jason Isbell Signature D–18 is closely modeled after Martin’s Golden Era series.

About the design, Isbell said, “Growing up with my granddad and his brother, whoever had the loudest guitar always had the best. So I wanted to make the loudest D–18 we could make.” The model will retail for $5,999.

Also on the docket for a NAMM debut is the third addition to Martin’s Ed Sheeran Signature Edition guitars. In celebration of the popular artist’s third album, this installment is called the Ed Sheeran ÷ (Divide) Signature Edition.

The model pays tribute to one of Sheeran’s favorites, the Martin’s LX1E Little Martin, and will retail at $699 complete with Fishman Sonitone electronics, SP Acoustic strings, and a padded gig bag.

Martin will also be launching a handful of exciting limited editions, including a SS–00L Art Deco model, as well as a few updates to the popular D–28.
