We have confirmation: The mysterious new Gibson model has finally been revealed.
First sighted at the Consumer Electronics Show and a noted absence at NAMM this year, the new Modern Double Cut surfaced on Gibson’s website today along with six new black/gold Custom models. Bearing more than a passing resemblance to a PRS thanks to the contoured design, the Modern Double Cut sports an extra-long neck and swept neck heel, a first for the company.
Along with the new firebrand, six variations on classic Gibson models are available in limited quantity. The Firebird and V Customs look especially good, and if you’re into the relic scene, a painted over Les Paul Custom is up for grabs.
