Electronaut M97 Compressor / Limiter at AES Convention 2015

An overwhelming majority of newly manufactured recording equipment pushes the boundaries for making things more compact, digitized, stuffed with features, and down to a lower price point for producers with smaller budgets. Electronaut, coming out of Chicago's West Side, seemingly ignored all of those trends as they released the M97 compressor / limiter at the 139th AES Convention. This 14 tube, 7 transformer beast is a stunning design reminiscent of the vintage Fairchild 660 and 670 limiters, which currently fetch around $30,000 if they can even be found at all. Like vintage models, the M97 is overbuilt in all the right ways and ready to go 12 rounds with the legendary vintage boxes.
