The original Dirt Road Special amps Electro-Harmonix built back in the late 1970s were small, 25-watt combos that came with a Small Stone phaser built in.
A lesser-known product from the famous effects builder, it is, nonetheless, a rarity that some players have long prized.
For Summer NAMM 2019—which kicks off today and continues through this weekend—EHX has unveiled a brand-new, 40-watt Dirt Road Special Reissue.
Like its predecessor, it's a compact unit featuring one 12" speaker and a overdrive/boost "Bite" knob.
But, perhaps because phasers aren't quite the rage they were in the late '70s, instead of a built-in Small Stone, it now features a built-in Holy Grail Max reverb, complete with settings for Spring, Plate, Hall, and Reverse.
Weighing in at 35 lbs, it's available for $395 USD, and can be found on Reverb here.
Check back for more new releases and news from Summer NAMM as continues through this weekend.
