About this listing
The 2013 Gibson ES-335 Block 12-string electric guitar is a rare and exceptional instrument, part of a limited Custom Shop Memphis run that pays homage to the iconic ES-335 while offering the shimmering, chime-like tones of a 12-string guitar. Revered for its jangle and clarity, this guitar echoes the timeless sounds heard on legendary recordings from the 1960s and ’70s.The Gibson ES-335 was first introduced in 1958 as the world’s first semi-hollowbody electric guitar. Designed to bridge the gap between solid-body and fully hollow-body models, the ES-335 offered reduced feedback while maintaining a rich, resonant tone. This innovation became a cornerstone for blues, jazz, and rock players. Over the decades, the ES-335 evolved, spawning various versions, including limited 12-string models. Though less common, the 12-string ES-335 versions brought a new tonal dimension, combining the classic 335 warmth with the sparkling overtones of a 12-string configuration. The 2013 Gibson ES-335 12-string model features BurstBucker 1 and 2 humbucking pickups, a slim ’60s neck profile, plays really well and stays in tune even better – a huge plus on a 12-string electric. Weight is 4000g. There is only minor playwear. Comes with a new but non-original case. The guitar does not include a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) or case candy.SPECIFICATIONSBody: Semi-hollow maple body with center block for resonance and feedback resistanceTop/Back/Sides: Laminated maple/poplar/mapleFinish: Gloss nitrocellulose lacquerNeck: Mahogany, ’60s slim profileFingerboard: Rosewood with block inlaysScale Length: 24.75” (628.65mm)Nut Width: 1.75” (44mm)Frets: 22 medium jumbo fretsPickups: BurstBucker 1 (neck), BurstBucker 2 (bridge)Electronics: 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way toggle switchBridge: ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic with stopbar tailpieceTuners: Grover RotomaticWeight: 4000gCase: New, non-originalOther: Limited-run Memphis Custom Shop model, no COA included
