For sale is a rare vintage GIMA / H.G. Friedrich 7-string acoustic guitar, made in Germany by Gitarrenbau Massen GmbH, Esterwegen.

This is not a standard 6-string acoustic guitar. It is a 7-string model, which makes it a much more unusual and interesting instrument, especially for collectors of vintage European guitars, Russian-style 7-string players, folk musicians, or anyone looking for something different.

The guitar features the GIMA logo on the headstock and an original H.G. Friedrich Gitarrenbau Massen GmbH label/plate inside the body. Based on the old German postal code on the label, this instrument is most likely from the West Germany / pre-1993 period, probably around the 1980s to early 1990s. Exact year and model are not confirmed.

Another important feature is the adjustable neck/body joint system. The neck angle can be adjusted through screws inside the body, which is a very practical and interesting vintage construction feature. This allows action and neck angle correction without a traditional neck reset.

The guitar has a charming vintage European look, decorative rosette, open-gear tuners, aged natural/sunburst finish, rosewood-style fingerboard and bridge, and a distinctive 7-string configuration.

The instrument shows normal vintage wear: scratches, small dings, finish marks, patina, edge wear and visible signs of age. Please check all photos carefully. The bridge/saddle area has an older adjustable/screw-mounted style construction, typical of some vintage European folk guitars.

Currently strung as a 7-string acoustic guitar. Tuning and setup can be adjusted according to the buyer’s preference. A fresh setup may be recommended depending on playing style.

A rare and characterful German-made 7-string acoustic guitar with an adjustable neck system — ideal for collectors, folk players, Russian-style 7-string players, or anyone looking for a unique vintage European instrument.

No case included unless stated otherwise.
