Bach Stradivarius Early Elkhart model 37 Bb trumpet 1968 Silver

This is an early Elkhart Bach Stradivarius  Bb trumpet in good original cosmetic and playing condition.   It has the standard configuration for this model with a 37 bell and 25 leadpipe with a medium-large bore.

It has the features of the legendary early Elkhart Bachs – A side-seam one-piece Corporation bell,  two-piece valve casings and brass valve guides. 

This trumpet has a few blemishes, but nothing that prevents it from playing with the great Bach sound that these early Elkhart Bachs are known for.  There has been some dent work on the bell  section near the front brace.  There is some scarring in this location as well as some plating loss near the brace.  Both these areas are circled in the photos.  The repair is well done.  We also located a very tiny spot of red rot in the leadpipe.  It only shows as a single pin dot on the outside of the pipe, but there is a corresponding dark area inside the pipe.  Likely with proper cleaning, this pipe can last for decades.  

The valve compression and valve action is very good.  This is one of the highest serial number Bachs that we've seen with serial numbers stamped on the spring barrels.  The serial numbers match.

This trumpet come with an early Elkhart case from our inventory.  The Bach badge is missing, but we have an original badge that we will include.
