Vintage Accordion 48 Bass – Paolo Soprani, Castelfidardo, Italy – 1940s–1950s
Vintage Italian accordion made in Castelfidardo by Paolo Soprani, dated to the late 1940s – early 1950s.
This instrument reflects the character of early post-war Italian accordion production: a classic metal grille, ivory-colored keys, and deep black bass buttons. It has a solid, well-balanced sound and produces a pleasant, warm tone typical for instruments of this period.
The accordion is in working condition and ready to play; it has been serviced by an experienced accordion repair specialist. The bellows hold air well, all registers respond properly, and the overall sound is stable and even.
I am not a professional musician, but this instrument is comfortable to play and responds well on both the keyboard and bass parts, making it suitable for relaxed playing, collecting, or display.
No visible serial number (a common feature of early handcrafted Paolo Soprani instruments).
