The Fender 53 Precision Bass JRN Relic Aged 2-Color Sunburst electric bass is a top-of-the-line Fender Custom Shop instrument that looks like it fell out of an American musical instrument store window in 1953.
The body of the bass guitar is made of two pieces of ash. The Journeyman Relic finish and Aged 2-Color Sunburst color treatment offer elements of artificial patina that correspond to decades of common, mostly domestic use. And if there is an ash body, then there must be a maple neck - in this case, a quartersawn with a period '51 Style "U" profile, and a maple fingerboard equipped with twenty Medium Vintage frets (47095).
A hand-wound single-coil from the Custom Shop with a chrome cover gives the bassist exactly the right sound of the early P-Bass models that helped change the face of music in the 50s. You can adjust the sound character with the controls located on the Tele style control plate. The period authenticity is emphasized by the vintage-style tuning machines, vintage P-Bass bridge and single-ply parchment pickguard.
The bass guitar comes in a case along with a guitar strap and a certificate of authenticity.
