D7810G - CPU For Roland TR-909, Juno-106 or MKS-7 - NOS
8-Bit CPU with A/D Converter. Brand new from old stock.
The only difference between the TR-909's D7811G (in some 909's) and this D7810G is that the 7811 has an internal ROM. Since this ROM space is not used in the TR-909 (it has the OS in Eprom) the D7810G can also be used as drop-in replacement for the D7811.
This CPU is also for the Juno 106, for both CPU and Module board, or as Main CPU for the MKS-7, when Eproms are present.
€ 12.00 extra when mounted on socket strips according to the description below. When you want this option, send me a message and I will add the upgrade as a separate listing.
ATTENTION ! Soldering these QUIP chips needs extreme care. Once the pins are bent it is extremely difficult to get them back in line. When you have only limited experience in soldering, don't even try. Get an experienced technician for his job and save yourself the frustration of damaging the chip.
For those who do have the experience: Use four 16-pin strips of single line sockets. Before soldering onto the pcb, mount the sockets onto the chip (inner rows first, as long as those pins are still easy to access). Make sure the pins are perfectly lined up before applying force, otherwise you will bend them.
Desoldering the 64 pins of the old chip is also not recommended for people with limited experience. Instead cut it's legs (high up) and pull the remaining stubs one by one
