Sonor 1993' HLD580BM-LE / Signature Series Limited Edition Jet Snare 14"×8"

We have received the "JET SET" snare drum, which was proposed by Sonar in 1992 and sent out to the world. There are only a few snares in existence in the world. Please note that this is just speculation as the author does not have detailed information.

Orders were accepted for a 5-piece set including the snare drum, and the deadline was December 31, 1992, with the first 50 people from around the world invited to Sonar headquarters as a purchase bonus.

By the way, it seems that four models of snares were released, including maple wood and bell bronze. The double tom holder alone cost 226,000 yen. It was a very expensive item. Because of the price range, there were no orders in Japan, and only about five sets were sold worldwide.

The Signature Series was manufactured and sold with the aim of creating the world's strongest instrument, but it was too expensive and was not easily adopted by American businesses. Also, while drum makers using all-maple are gaining popularity, Sonor mainly uses beech and birch wood, and maple is not used for signature models because it would be even more expensive. It is likely that they made the Signature Limited out of maple in pursuit of the ultimate in strength. And so the era of the Horst Link Signature ended, and the Designer Series led by Karl Heinz began.
