The Technicolor Fuzz is a modified RKiii fuzz, known affectionately as the Os Mutantes Fuzz as it was designed by Claudio Baptista, brother to Mutantes guitarist Sergio, and installed inside his guitar. Os Mutantes are one of my favorite bands, and the fuzz tone in songs like A Minha Menina and others are what turned me on to fuzz. This pedal was designed to recreate those 60's fuzz tones. Featuring NOS Mullard Tropical fish caps, carbon comp resistors, and metal can BC109 silicon transistors for extra vintage mojo, and some mods for modern playability and circuit protection. The switch takes the fuzz from a full-throated roar to a tight, velcro gated fuzz perfect for recreating those mid-late 60’s psych rock leads!
