Product Details

The BOSS BD-2 is an overdrive pedal that pursues a natural distortion similar to that of a driven tube amplifier.

It's a popular choice across a wide range of genres, from blues to rock and pop, and is one of BOSS's flagship distortion pedals.

Its appeal lies in its ability to add rich harmonics and a powerful drive while preserving the guitar's original tone and playing nuances. It's a versatile pedal that can handle everything from delicate expression to powerful performances.

This model features a simple configuration with three controls: LEVEL, TONE, and GAIN. LEVEL adjusts the output volume, TONE controls the high-frequency balance, and GAIN allows for a wide range of distortion settings, from light crunch to deep overdrive.

It excels particularly in its responsiveness to guitar volume changes and picking dynamics, allowing for the reflection of subtle nuances in the tone.

It can also be used as a booster to supplement amplifier distortion, offering simple yet flexible sound shaping.

The sound is characterized by a warm distortion reminiscent of a tube amplifier and a natural response to picking.
Setting the GAIN moderately allows you to enjoy a light crunch sound while maintaining chord separation.
Deepening the distortion transforms it into a drive sound with rich harmonics and a powerful attack.
Turning down the guitar's volume makes the distortion milder, while playing strongly brings out a sharp attack, allowing for a variety of expressions depending on the player's touch.
It excels in a wide range of styles, from delicate blues phrases to powerful rock riffs.

This pedal is recommended for those who want to enjoy expressive distortion while cherishing the natural resonance of their guitar.
It's suitable not only for creating a drive sound in combination with a clean amplifier, but also for further pushing an already distorted amplifier.
Because it allows for sound shaping that takes advantage of the dynamics of your playing, it's an attractive overdrive pedal that excels in a wide range of styles, especially blues and rock.
