AML ez1073 1U Mic/Line Preamp + EQ – Professionally Built – 1073 Style

Selling my AML ez1073 1U microphone/line preamp with EQ.

This is a professionally assembled unit based on AML’s ez1073 project, designed around the classic 1073-style mic preamp, line amplifier and EQ architecture. It is a single-channel 1U rack unit with separate microphone and line inputs, EQ section and balanced XLR connections. AML’s original 1U ez1073 project uses dedicated input/output transformers and inductors as part of the design. 

I originally bought this unit from another studio owner, who stated that it had been professionally built rather than assembled as a casual DIY project. The internal construction is shown clearly in the photos so you can see exactly what you are buying.

It’s a great analogue front end for vocals, guitars, bass, synths, drums and other sources where you want some classic transformer-based colour rather than a completely transparent preamp. The EQ is particularly useful for shaping a source on the way into the DAW.
