The original Apollo with UAD-2 QUAD DSP onboard. Four Unison mic pres, eight analog ins and outs, dual Hi-Z instrument inputs, ADAT and S/PDIF, word clock, and dual headphone outs. The Thunderbolt Option Card is already installed, so this connects over Thunderbolt — no FireWire workaround needed.
Over ten years old and honest about it: some cosmetic wear on the chassis and faceplate from normal studio use. Functionally it’s flawless. Every preamp, converter, and output works exactly as it should, and the QUAD DSP still carries a serious plugin load in real time. These were built like tanks and this one proves it.
Two things to know before you buy:
The Thunderbolt card is TB2. If you’re on a modern Mac you’ll need Apple’s Thunderbolt 3-to-2 adapter — inexpensive and widely available, but plan for it.
UAD plugin licenses are tied to the seller’s UA account, not the hardware. You’re getting the interface plus whatever bundled plugins UA grants when you register it under your own account — not my personal plugin library.
Great entry point if you want UA conversion and Unison preamps without current-gen pricing.
