Here's a fantastic alder body out of Fender's Custom Shop.
It's shape, contour, and routing are true to the 1957 Stratocaster -- not to be confused with modern equivalent bodies, which differ in subtle ways from vintage reproductions.
It is on the lighter side, at 4 lbs 1.9 oz, with my fully assembled guitar weighing in at 7 lbs 8 oz. This will vary depending on which neck, electronics, plastics, and hardware are used.
The finish is unique and stunning, and the relic job is tasteful and authentic, as you would expect from the Custom Shop.
The neck pocket fit my American Standard neck perfectly -- tight with no shimming or sanding necessary. The fit should be similar for vintage American, modern American, and Custom Shop necks.
