Short scale. Big tone. Classic feel. Built for players who want the best of then and now.

The American Professional Classic Mustang Bass blends vintage Fender character with thoughtful modern updates - a short-scale, punchy workhorse with style and soul to spare.

Loaded with a Coastline 70s split-coil pickup, this bass delivers all the focused warmth, articulation, and low-end punch you'd expect from a golden-era Mustang, with just a bit more muscle. The Greasebucket tone circuit keeps things tight and defined, even when you roll back the tone, perfect for players who want to shape highs without losing clarity.

A Modern "C" neck with a 9.5" radius fingerboard and medium jumbo frets makes this one of the most comfortable Mustangs we've had our hands on - it's fast, familiar, and effortless to play. Paired with classic lollipop tuners and a vintage-style 4-saddle bridge, it keeps tuning stable and the vibe authentic.

The Music Emporium has been a fixture of the Boston music community since 1968. We're a shop built by musicians - players, luthiers, photographers, and gear obsessives - and that shapes everything about how we do business.

Every instrument we ship is inspected and set up by our in-house guitar techs before it leaves the shop.

We're a Fender Showcase Dealer, Collings' largest dealer worldwide, and a Martin Custom Shop Expert Dealer. Our showroom is at 165 Massachusetts Ave in Lexington, MA.

Questions about any instrument are always welcome. We're happy to talk gear.
