Jomox XBase 999 – Excellent Condition

Selling my Jomox XBase 999 — an absolutely monster-sounding analog drum machine and one of the more distinctive hardware grooveboxes Jomox ever made.

If you know Jomox, you know what this thing does well: huge kicks, aggressive analog percussion, serious low end, and drums that have a ton of personality. It can go from classic analog drum-machine territory to much stranger, harder, more experimental sounds.

The XBase 999 has nine drum instruments, with true analog circuitry for the kick, snare and toms, alongside sample-based percussion running through analog VCAs. Almost everything is editable and storable, so unlike a vintage analog box, you can create radically different kits and recall them.

It also has a fantastic analog stereo multimode filter, two assignable LFOs, extensive MIDI control and a deep step sequencer that lets you automate parameters and really turn patterns into evolving performances.

The kick alone is almost worth owning the machine for — it can be enormous without becoming a generic 808 clone. The whole box has that slightly raw, physical Jomox quality that works especially well for techno, electro, house, industrial, experimental electronic music and anything where you want drums to actually have some attitude.

These don't come up nearly as often as more conventional drum machines, and there's really not much else that sounds quite like an XBase 999.
