Very clean example of a wonderful and iconic guitar! This came out of a private collection, and still bears the Venneman Music sticker on the back of the headstock where it was purchased. Overall very clean and original- it looks like it left the factory with a 3 bar tailpiece, which broke at the hinge, and was replaced with a (what I was told) real Gibson Squiggly/zig zag tailpiece. The original tail piece is included. The case is the one that came with the 175, a purple lined Gibson hard case, also very clean- it looks like an acoustic case, but the 175 fits well. The original hang tag booklet is also included. Not much to explain away, a gorgeous guitar that some took wonderful care of. There is a Made in USA stamp, but the neck is single piece, not a 3 piece neck, and there is no volte. the 902XXX serial number comes up as 1968, which I doubt, or 70/71/72- I would expect a volute and 3 piece neck by 71, so I think it is a 1970. The pots are in the little metal cans, which is a 60's thing to me, so it's a guess, but a pretty good one. Plays and sounds wonderful.
