The RK2000 is Keeley's recreation of the Ibanez DM2000 — the 1983 rack delay Trey Anastasio of Phish made famous through the "Funk Siren": loop a phrase with Hold, drive the modulation hard, and the frozen loop warps and pitch-bends like a tape machine being pushed past its limits. Keeley built this after Trey's guitar tech went looking for a reliable alternative to decades-old rack units on tour — you don't need to know a note of Phish for the Hold and Mod functions to be genuinely useful for ambient, experimental and textural playing.

At its core it's a 12-bit, up to 1,023ms delay with the expected controls — Input, Blend, Feedback, Filter (high/low pass shaping) and Time — but Hold and Mod are what define it. Hold captures and loops the current delay buffer indefinitely; pushing Mod while held sends the loop into real-time pitch-bending and warping. Mod alone ranges from subtle warble to extreme, theremin-like movement.

Stereo I/O includes a ping-pong mode, five onboard presets (up to 127 via MIDI, with every parameter CC-controllable), and full expression pedal support across any parameter combination via the EXP/MIDI jack. A separate remote jack lets Hold and Mod be triggered from anywhere on a board, supporting both momentary and latching footswitches.

Runs 9V–18V DC centre-negative at 150mA, with 18V giving extra headroom. Genuinely useful as a straightforward stereo delay even without touching Hold or Mod — but that's where the character lives.
