RARE 1957 Magnatone Mark V electric guitar with original brown hardshell case with salmon colored lining, in overall very good condition for its age. This is a quite a rare and historically significant electric guitar, made even more desirable by the fact that it has block fingerboard inlays, where most Mark V's have dots. In addition, there is an attractive inlay/stripe that runs down the center of the rosewood fingerboard for the full length of the neck. Very very cool. This Mark V is all original with the exception of the aluminum bridge (which is a style correct reissue), and one tuner is a Kluson style newer replacement (it is on the g string). There are a few small screw holes on the back of the headstock, as well. Condition-wise, there is the kind of finish checking one would expect of a guitar from this era, there are scratches and dings and some worn areas on the edges of the body. There are some scrapes near the bigsby tailpiece, as well as a small touched up area. There is an old, professional and very solid repair to the neck between the nut and 3rd fret - this is NOT a headstock break/repair - it is totally solid and a very very good, old repair. Please see photos of this area for details. The original brown case is in quite good shape for its age - all latches work - the back/bottom of the case is a bit loose, but can be repaired if the next owner wishes. This guitar is RARE - but it is also very very playable. Nice, full neck carve, very comfortable action, lots of fret life left. Please feel free to call for an in hand description, many more photos available. Thanks.
