Vintage Rogers Big R 18x16 Floor Tom Black Cortex Memri-Loc USA Late 1970s Original

Vintage Rogers Big R 18x16 floor tom in original Black Cortex finish, made in the USA during the late 1970s.

This is an original USA-made drum featuring the desirable Memri-Loc hardware and includes all three original floor tom legs with matching memory locks. The shell is clean inside and out with clean bearing edges and no extra holes or modifications.

The original Black Cortex wrap presents very well overall with typical scratches and cosmetic wear from over 40 years of use. The factory seam has lifted slightly between the lugs but remains securely attached beneath the lug casings. It has not continued to peel and should be a straightforward repair for anyone who wishes to reglue it. Please review the photos for a close-up of the seam.

Chrome hardware is very nice overall with only light pitting and age-related wear. One original rubber foot has minor cracking, while the other two remain in good condition. The drum is fitted with Evans heads and is ready to play.

Original 18" Rogers Big R floor toms are considerably harder to find than the more common 16" models, making this an excellent addition to a vintage Rogers kit or a great standalone player's drum.
