2018 Fender Custom Shop '52 Telecaster Heavy Relic – Purple with Gold Anodised Pickguard – OHSC & Case Candy

For sale is my 2018 Fender Custom Shop 1952 Telecaster Heavy Relic, finished in a stunning purple nitrocellulose lacquer with a gold anodised pickguard. It's an eye-catching Custom Shop build that plays and sounds every bit as good as it looks.

The guitar is in excellent condition and, as you'd expect from a Heavy Relic finish, any wear is factory applied by the Fender Custom Shop rather than through use. It has been well looked after and is in full working order.

One of the things that initially drew me to this guitar was its resemblance to Danish Pete Honore's now well-known purple Telecaster. When I originally purchased it from Andertons, I was told that this guitar had been commissioned as a potential second purple Telecaster for Pete to keep at home while his main guitar remained at the store. According to the story, the finished specifications weren't an exact match for his existing instrument, so it was ultimately offered for sale instead.

I want to be completely transparent that I have no documentation or proof to verify this story, it's simply what I was told by Andertons when I bought the guitar. Regardless of its history, it is a genuine 2018 Fender Custom Shop instrument with a striking appearance that will certainly appeal to fans of this style of Telecaster.

The guitar delivers everything you'd expect from a Custom Shop '52 Telecaster - resonant, lightweight, and exceptionally responsive, with classic Tele twang, articulate cleans, and plenty of bite when pushed. The guitar has a very thick U-shaped neck, that plays beautifully. Whether you're a collector, a working musician, or simply looking for a standout Custom Shop Tele, this is a fantastic example.
