Taylor 710CE 1999 Cedar Top with Fishman Electronics
1999 Taylor 701CE. Western Red Cedar Top, East Indian Rosewood back and sides. Beautiful Abalone sound hole inlay and fret markers. Some cosmetic scratches, (see pics) one below the pickguard, one at the top of the bridge. Cosmetic only, not cracks in the wood. Some other very minor dings, etc. Nice hardshell case included. I've owned this guitar for 20 of its 27 years and done many different gigs with it. Plays great, sounds fantastic. I much prefer the Fishman system to the newer Expression systems.
The 1999 Taylor 710-CE is highly regarded by acoustic enthusiasts because 1999 was a transitional "golden era" year for Taylor Guitars. Instruments from this specific timeframe bridge the gap between traditional vintage builds and modern automated engineering. This instrument features a pre-NT (New Technology) neck joint. Later in 1999 and into 2000, Taylor permanently shifted to their computer-machined NT bolt-on neck design. Pre-NT models like this one utilize a traditional, streamlined pocket design favored by vintage purists for its seamless heel-to-body look.
