The ADR Express Limiter is a rare, vintage stereo FET compressor and limiter built by Audio Design Recording (ADR) in the UK during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Key Features and Performance
- Circuit Design: Uses ADR’s signature variloss FET compression topology, similar to the legendary ADR Compex and Vocal Stressor units.
- Controls: Features dual-concentric input and output controls, offering 4 compression ratios with selectable PEAK or RMS detection, alongside optional expansion and fast peak limiting.
- Memory Function: Includes an internal memory battery designed to save and recall button/setting configurations upon powering the unit back on.
- Sound Character: Known for a fast, aggressive, "snappy" grab that can heavily smash drums or run transparently enough for a stereo mix bus.
