2006 Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature – Blood Red – Korean – First Year – Original EMGs – Original Black Hard Case.
Offered for sale is my 2006 Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature in the highly desirable Blood Red finish.
This is an original Korean-built, first-year production example from the launch year of the MTM1. It features the original specification including the neck-through Wizard-profile 5-piece maple/walnut neck, mahogany body wings, Edge FX fixed bridge, and original EMG 81/60 active pickup set.
The MTM1 represents the first signature model produced for Mick Thomson and remains one of the most sought-after modern Ibanez signature guitars, particularly early Korean examples. The guitar has recently been professionally set up in factory Drop B tuning (B–F♯–B–E–G♯–C♯), with freshly polished frets and a cleaned and conditioned fingerboard.

Why this guitar?
The original Korean MTM1 occupies a unique place in Ibanez history.
It was the first Mick Thomson signature model and became closely associated with the All Hope Is Gone era. The neck-through construction, fixed bridge and original EMG specification give these guitars a feel and sustain unlike standard RG models.
Good original examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly those that remain unmodified and retain their original hardware.
Included
- Original Ibanez MTM hard case (before the red one that came with the lesser models)
- Guitar exactly as pictured
Shipping
Professionally packed and fully insured.
Collection is also welcome.
Final Notes
This guitar remains highly original, retaining its original EMG 81/60 pickup set, original Edge FX bridge, original tuning machines and original hardware. Finding early Korean MTM1s that have not been modified is becoming increasingly uncommon.
Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
I'm happy to answer any questions or provide additional high-resolution photographs for serious buyers.
This is an increasingly collectible September first-year Korean MTM1 and a fantastic opportunity to own one of the most iconic modern Ibanez signature guitars in exceptional original condition. Also I’ve just taken a look at some of the pictures and you could mistake some of the reflections for marks on the guitar, they absolutely are not marks on the guitar and if you’d like any more pictures to show this I am happy to provide them.
Edit: Would consider trades for high end computer components/builds. 5090’s 4090+cash, complete builds will consider all.
