I am offering a Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 Heritage Cherry Sunburst from 2005, a manufactured in Nashville (TN), USA, reissue model of the legendary ’60s Gibson Les Paul featuring a solid mahogany body (4.25kg total weight) including an arched plain-top maple top, set mahogany neck with slim 1960 Slim Taper neck profile, bound Indian rosewood fingerboard with aged trapezoidal pearloid inlays, two warm-sounding DiMarzio DP223 CR humbucker pickups (upgrade!), hand-wired electronics, Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge with Gibson Stopbar and high-quality Gibson Vintage Deluxe tuners with Keystone buttons in a brilliant heritage cherry sunburst nitrocellulose finish with cream pickguard and cream bindings, in very good condition, including black hardshell case and professional setup with 10-46 Elixir Optiweb strings.
The Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 was introduced in the ’90s as a classic alternative to the Standard Les Paul. With its coveted slim neck and historically inspired specifications, the Les Paul Classic 1960 sold exceptionally well for nearly two decades before production was discontinued in 2008. According to some, this was allegedly also because the model line competed with its Custom Shop sister model developed at the time, the Gibson 1960 Reissue Les Paul—though it was available for just under a quarter of the price.
It’s therefore no surprise that its construction and appearance are strongly reminiscent of the iconic Les Paul designs of the early ’60s. Like the originals, this beautiful 2005 model features a solid mahogany body, which, at a total weight of 4.25kg, is one of the lighter examples from this era and offers not only a distinctly audible natural resonance but also quite comfortable playability. Combined with the arched maple top and the set mahogany neck, the guitar delivers the legendary Les Paul tone: warm, assertive, and rich in sustain.
Plugged into an amp, the two professionally upgraded DiMarzio DP223 CR humbuckers deliver authentic PAF-inspired tones of the very finest quality. The powerful output characteristic of DiMarzio, clear articulation, and a balanced frequency spectrum define the sound qualities, allowing the guitar to successfully reproduce everything from bell-like clean tones to biting rock and lead sounds.
The slim 1960 Slim Taper neck profile fits comfortably in the hand and offers a smooth playing feel, especially in the higher registers. Combined with the classic 12-inch fretboard radius and 22 medium frets, the guitar is equally suited for chord work, fast solos, and precise bending.

The Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 is no longer manufactured in this configuration and is rare. Please do not confuse it with the current Classic models—these early Classics feature exceptional build quality (“Good Wood Era”).
This Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 is in very good condition and in perfect working order. Except for the DiMarzio pickups, everything on the guitar itself is original, and visually there is occasional little visible wear—including some finish wear on the back of the neck (see photos). The frets are in absolutely top condition.
The instrument has been professionally set up with 10-46 Elixir Optiweb strings, and I (a long-time guitar teacher) will ship it fully insured with DHL for €29.99 within Germany or for €79.99 within the EU. Worldwide shipping is available—individual shipping costs upon request.
