1984 Fender Stratocaster neck with rosewood fingerboard

This is a 1984 American Stratocaster neck with a rosewood fingerboard.

Its only blemish is a trio of screw holes on the headstock where a locking saddle was apparently once attached. Otherwise, it's in surprisingly good condition for a 42-year-old neck.

It was shaped in a C profile, with a 12-inch fingerboard radius. This relative flatness facilitates big bends with virtually no danger of choking out typical of 7.25-inch and even 9.5-inch boards.

The neck was made during the 1983-84 Standard Series period. Although some of Fender's experimental modifications to that period's Strat were controversial, the necks were--and remain--very popular. In fact, the 80s Standard Series in general has over the past year or so become more widely appreciated by younger generations of players.

The frets are smooth and the neck is straight. I used it for a few months and can vouch.

It contains a Bi-flex truss rod, so it tightens both clockwise and counterclockwise, enabling you to correct a front or back bow.

It's also a handsome medium-dark rosewood.
